Since it opened in 1962, the Maggie Hathaway Golf Course has thrived as a center for aspiring golfers and building community.
​
The Fore Youth: 2023 U.S. Open Community Legacy campaign, led by the SCGA, USGA and The Los Angeles Country Club (LACC), has raised over $8M for the project to create a community legacy benefiting underserved and underrepresented youth.
This proposed project will provide new and improved facilities and resources, while honoring the trailblazing legacy of performing artist, community activist, and golf pioneer, Maggie Hathaway.

New design by renowned golf course architect, Gil Hanse, will be more beautiful, interesting and engaging

Improved course sustainability with a more efficient irrigation system and the introduction of Bermuda grass to reduce water use

Enlarged practice areas with a 30% larger putting green and brand new chipping green

Announcements
November 2024: We celebrated the Groundbreaking for the Maggie Hathaway Golf Course Renewal Project on November 7, 2024. PGA major-winner Collin Morikawa, State Senator Steven Bradford, L.A. County Supervisor Holly Mitchell, world-renowned golf architect Gil Hanse, USGA CEO Michael Whan and over 200 community members attended to celebrate the next step in this project. To date, over 15 million dollars has been raised and construction will begin in early 2024.
